MY BACKGROUND

I started researching my Family Tree over 10 years ago for my Parent's Golden Wedding Anniversary and that is when I caught the Genealogy bug! I started with just a few names and now I have nearly 1000, over 400 of which are on my published Tree on www.ancestry.co.uk. My research took me to Counties across the UK mainly in Yorkshire, Norfolk and Leicestershire as well as Australia and New Zealand.

Professionally I have worked on several Family Trees with research going back to the 17th and 18th Centuries. I have also traced people that emigrated and even a murderer who pleaded insanity and was acquitted at the Old Bailey in the early 19th Century.

FAMILY TREE RESEARCH

   and possibly beyond.

• I can research free sites like www.familysearch.org
   which is the IGI (International Genealogical Index)

• I have access to pay sites like www.findmypast.co.uk and
   www.ancestry.co.uk from which I can research:-

                 • Parish Records
                 • Civil Registration from 1837 onward
                 • Transportation
                 • Criminal Records both Regional and
                    at The Old Bailey
                 • UK and American Passenger Lists
                 • WW1 Army Records including Medal and
                    Pension Assessment
                 • The War Graves Commission
                 • London Metropolitan Archives
                 • Scottish Records
                 • Irish Records

• I specialise in Gloucestershire, Yorkshire and London

MY COSTS

I charge £10 per hour (minimum 2 hours) and will work on either a fixed number of hours, a budget which you decide on and this can be either as a one off or on an ongoing monthly basis of payment, or a package to suite your requirements.

I make a charge of £10 to purchase copies of Birth, Marriage and death Certificates.

I am totally flexible to your requirements and do not accept any payment up front.

Payment is by cheque.

WHAT DO YOU GET?

• A Family Tree.

• Supporting documents eg. copies of Censuses and Parish
   records and any other relevant documents.

JUST STARTING OUT

I offer advice, guidance and support on getting started and provide a Starter Pack which includes Internet sites, addresses of relevant Family History Societies and Record Offices and details of publications.

I also include examples of Census Returns and Parish Records.
